The Desert Valley Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Lab has unveiled its new state-of-the-art GE imaging system at its Victorville facility.
According to the DVH, the new wards and modern equipment will allow medical staff to better serve the population. The Innova IGS angiographic system is used to diagnose and treat capillary, venous, vascular and arterial diseases.

According to DVH, the Innova system is one of the most effective and user-friendly devices in modern cardiology for patients. The machine can perform 3D rotation of the X-ray tube around the patient, which allows a complete image of the patient’s anatomy to be obtained in a single pass.
It is also possible to diagnose the disease without the need for surgical intervention.
A cardiac catheterization procedure involves inserting a small catheter through the body’s coronary artery, the blood vessel that supplies blood to the heart muscle. A contrast dye is then injected into the catheter and the x-ray image shows blockages or problem areas and monitors the heart.
Health care providers use this information to diagnose angina, heart failure, and valvular disease, and to determine if medication, angioplasty, minimally invasive structural reconstruction, or open-heart surgery is needed.
