The presence of molybdenum in the stainless steel offers good strength and toughness at high temperature. The SS 316 Ti is a stabilized titanium version of 316 molybdenum-bearing austenitic SS. The 316 grade alloys exhibits great corrosion resistance, pitting resistance to chloride environment, crevice corrosion resistance and stress crack corrosion resistance. Alloy 316 is susceptible to sensitization, formation of grain boundary and chromium carbides at high temperature. The grade is highly used in high temperature environment without compromising with resistance property.
